Minzy anunciou sua saída da The Music Works, encerrando sua disputa legal com a empresa que resultou da negação do tribunal de seu pedido de uma liminar para suspender seu contrato exclusivo.
Em 17 de abril, ela postou uma declaração no Instagram em coreano e inglês, explicando que conseguiu chegar a um acordo com a empresa e agora saiu. Minzy agradeceu aos fãs e escreveu: "Vou me comunicar com mais frequência com fãs que sempre me apoiam!"

새 출발합니다. 오늘부로 소속사를 떠나서 자유를 얻었습니다. 늘 지지해주시는 팬 분들을 위해서라도 소속사와 협상해서 분쟁을 빨리 끝냈습니다.
최근 몇년간 활발히 활동하는 모습을 못 보여드려 마음 한켠에 늘 아쉬움이 있었는데, 지금부터는 더 자주, 더 멋진 모습 보여드릴 수 있게 되었습니다. 앞으로는 공민지라는 이름에 어울리게 무대 위에서 더 밝고 당당한 모습으로 인사드리겠습니다.
